Arsene Wenger is one of the busiest man in the transfer window this summer as he is searching for a number of players who he can add to his squad to help him compete with the best in the league and in Europe next season.
However, he will now have to try hard and keep hold of certain players that are important to him this summer if he wants to go into the next season as a stronger outfit. So the manager should be careful about any club linked with a move for his player.
But one such rumor that is doing that rounds today is that Pep Guardiola at Manchester City wants to sign Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal this summer.
The 25-year old is one of the most exciting midfielders in the league and has been a consistent force for the Gunners over the last couple of years. Though he has had some injuries, he has provided some great performances and is a great asset for the Gunners.
However, Guardiola is understood to be an admirer of the player who will fit into his style easily and it is now understood that he is making a move for the player in the next few days.
Interestingly, Jose Mourinho also wanted Ramsey as a backup if Mkhitaryan’s deal fails to show the quality the 25-year old has. He was also impressive with his national team in the EUROs where he helped Wales to a semi-final.
The midfielder still has 2-years left on his contract at Arsenal but Manchester City are ready to meet his valuation and want him to move to the Etihad this summer.
The addition of Granit Xhaka to the squad will mean that Ramsey will fall down the pecking order and that may be a good enough reason for the midfielder to want a move away from the club.
But it is understood that Arsenal values him at £50m and are ready to open talks only at that price.
City can surely meet the asking price but with just 2 years left on his contract, it will be interesting to see if they are desperate enough to make a move at that rate this summer.
This is a story that will attract a lot of attention and if it turns out to be true, and a deal is made, it will be one of the stories of the summer.
