Police Seize £73million Worth Cocaine Branded With Lionel Messi

Peruvian Police have seized 1,417 kilograms of cocaine which is expected to be worth around £73million which was branded after Barcelona and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.
The entire stock had the face of Lionel Messi on it and other packages in the shipment were carrying the royal seal of the King of Spain.
It is not the first time that the Argentine was seen on the brand of a drug pack as he is one of the most famous celebrities across the world.
Lima’s anti-drug police unit has later confirmed that the package contained cocaine and has also revealed that the shipment was expected to be delivered in Belgium.
Reports reveal that the usage of logo of Lionel Messi was an act to indicate the product’s quality and to stop people tampering with the packages. Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has also reported that the massive shipment was also carrying another 1,300 giant squid fillets.
No formal arrests have been made by Peruvian police so far as the packages had arrived form Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro Rivers Valley region, which are considered as some of the biggest cocaine producing areas in the world.
The incident can be considered as a massive breakthrough as it is the second biggest the police have managed to trace as they had also managed to seize a two ton cocaine package asparagus in January.
On a footballing front, Lionel Messi is yet to sign a new contract with Barcelona and there has been increase in speculations of him leaving Camp Nou in favor of Manchester City later in the summer.
