Wenger in trouble.

It was Arsene Wenger’s side that made the trip to the Nou Camp on Wednesday night, as Arsenal faced off against Barcelona in the second leg of their round of 16 clashes in Europe’s top cup competition. The Londoners needed to turn things around after a 2-0 loss in the first leg, as they looked to go through further in the competition. Despite a positive start once again, it did not go according to plan once again as Neymar gave his side the lead in the 18th minute. No further goals were scored in the first half though the visitors wasted a lot of chances which they could not afford to.

The game restarted giving a little hope to Wenger’s team as Mohamed Elneny made it 1-1 when he scored in the 51st minute with a fierce strike. The visitors tried to push on for more rewards, as the game went on but failed to get something from the game. However, it only got worse as Luis Suarez added a second for his side in the 65th minute with a world-class finish while Lionel Messi made it 3-1 to knock Arsenal out of the competition in style in the 88th minute.

Wenger would surely have not liked the result though his team performed well and here is what he said after the game in his post-match press conference:

“The quality of our game was good. I am disappointed with the result as I felt at 1-1 they were wobbling a bit.”

“We had our chances, but we couldn’t take them. But we have to say well done to Barcelona.”
