According to media reports, Paris Saint-Germain winger and Brazilian international Lucas Moura would likely opt to play for Arsenal over Manchester United if a transfer happens in January.

The English giants Arsenal and Manchester United are linked closely with the Brazilian winger who had joined PSG in 2012 for £44m. Lucas Moura has remained out of favor mostly under Laurent Blanc at the French club. With the likes of Edinson Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequel Lavezzi, Javier Pastore and Angel Di Maria in the squad, the PSG boss neglects the young Brazilian.

Under these circumstances, it is being speculated that the EPL giants might eye a move for Moura for a bargain price.

Both United and Arsenal are need of quality attackers to bolster their squad. Manchester United are in a comfortable position in the league table but their style of play have been criticised heavily. Also Captain Wayne Rooney is just a shadow of what he used to be a few seasons back. The English international Captain has played both as a striker and a number 10 this season, unfortunately none of the positions suited him as he failed miserably.

The Red Devils had bought Memphis Depay this summer from PSV Eindhoven in order to replace departing star Angel Di Maria. Depay has proved to be a disappointment so far as he yet to make a mark at Old Trafford. Thus, Lucas Moura’s arrival will somewhat solve their problems relating to attack.

Arsenal started their campaign on a high this season in the Premier League but their form took a dip after they were jolted with back to back injuries to crucial players. The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, and Theo Walcott are out of actions currently who are an important member of the Gunners’ starting XI.

If Arsene Wenger wants to bag the much awaited EPL title this season then he has to make big buys during January unlike summer. Moura’s arrival will be a huge boost to the North London side.

It is believed that Lucas Moura would likely choose Arsenal over Manchester United as he admires the French manager Arsene Wenger. It is definitely a huge boost for the Arsenal side.
