According to the latest reports, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are considering a loan move for Barcelona’s legendary midfielder Xavi Hernandez from Qatari outfit Al-Sadd.
The 35-year old have confirmed that he would leave his boyhood club Barcelona this summer after 24 years. The veteran has joined the Catalan club at the age of 11 and have become one of the all-time greats of the game.
Xavi has made over 500 appearances for Barcelona winning 23 trophies in the process which include 3 Champions League titles and 8 La Liga titles. The midfielder will be hoping finish his career at Barcelona on a high by winning both Copa Del Rey and Champions League as the Catalans are looking for a historic treble this season.
PSG are keen on signing the midfielder in a one-year loan deal as they look to negate around the regulations of Financial Fair Play. The veteran midfielder will provide much-needed shield to their defense which is often exposed during their Champions League games against bigger sides.
Further more reasons for this deal to happen is that the owner of Al Sadd is the brother of PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi. PSG are looking to lure the midfielder by showing the example of Frank Lampard who have signed for New York City FC but came back to Premier League on a loan this season.
