Chelsea has not had the best Premier League season’s so far and it is no surprise that a lot of rumors in the country are linking players from the clubs with a move away from London.
Recent reports suggested that AS Monaco who let Falcao move to United on loan are monitoring the striker’s situation and are interested in signing the Chelsea forward who has made almost no impression on the Premier League.
The on-loan Monaco forward has scored just 1 goal in 10 appearances for the Blues and it was understood that his parent club is interested in bringing him back to League 1.
The Columbian international has not featured in recent times with a thigh injury and it is reported that the Monaco have pulled off the deal after Falcao flew there to be examined.
Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev said: “It’s true that we have spoken several times with Falcao.
“The first idea was that he returned to Monaco to play the second half of the season.
“He came to us, he was assessed by our doctors. Unfortunately, he was injured. We took the decision, it is better that he remains at Chelsea.”
The biggest problem for Chelsea having Falcao at the club is his astonishing wages. After taking a significant wage cut, Falcao still earns £135,000-a-week in wages from the London Franchise.
The 29-year old was one of the most sought out strikers in Europe not long ago but his loss of form and injury problems have rendered him a liability at Chelsea.
Barring a miraculous performance in the fag end of the season, it will not be a surprise to see the Columbian international head to Monaco or another club in the summer transfer window.
