Real Madrid Enter The Race To Sign ‘Unhappy’ Aguero

Real Madrid are ready to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding Sergio Aguero’s future at Manchester City, according to the Mirror.
Aguero has firmly established himself as one of the best players in the Premier League since joining Manchester City in the summer of 2011. The Argentine has bagged 113 goals in 164 appearances in England’s top tier, winning the competition on two occasions.
However, since Brazilian prodigy Gabriel Jesus’ arrival at the Etihad, his position in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven has looked under threat. Those doubts came to a head as Man City faced West Ham midweek, with Jesus being handed his first Premier League start and Aguero being relegated to the substitute’s bench.
It appears as though one European giant could be set to swoop in and rescue Aguero. As per the Mirror, Real Madrid are long-term admirers of the 28-year-old and may see this as an opportunity to secure his services. The tabloid notes that Juventus and PSG could also be interested.
Aguero has previously been dropped twice before by Guardiola, when City lost at Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League in October and when Burnley were beaten 2-1 in January.
Yet when contacted on Thursday Reguera, Aguero’s agent said his client is content at City. “Yes, he is very, very happy – he will be there next season.”
Asked if Aguero had any issue with potentially having to compete for his place with Jesus, Reguero replied: “No problem.”
Gabriel Jesus has made a startling impression at Manchester City since arriving in January and for the first time in his short reign at the Etihad, manager Pep Guardiola has options at centre-forward.
While striker Kelechi Iheanacho, 20, has shown plenty of promise, Brazil international Jesus already looks ready to challenge long-term first choice Sergio Aguero for his starting berth.
It now seems probable that Guardiola will rotate between Jesus and Aguero in the Premier League as he chases a place in the top four. Given that the manager has all but conceded the title to leaders Chelsea, his major decision regarding who starts at striker will come when City host Monaco in the round of 16 on February 21.
