Real Madrid Renew Interest In Manchester United Star Who They Failed To Sign A Couple of Years Ago

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will not be happy with a point from the home tie against Liverpool this week but after the performance they put in, they will be thankful for late goal from Zlatan that salvaged them a point.

Over the last few years, shot-stopper David De Gea has been the hero of this fixture putting in some brilliant performances to keep his side on the top.

He was not as worked at Old Trafford this weekend but he has found another way to make headlines today.

British media outfit Telegraph have today run a piece claiming Spanish giants Real Madrid are ready to make a new bid for the goalkeeper at the end of the season.

The former Atletico Madrid man was linked with a move to the Spanish capital a couple of years ago but a last minute issues with his documentation saw the Red Devils keep hold of their player for another year.

Manchester United were smart and quick to react and they offered a new contract that year to keep him at the club for the long term.

De Gea is now contracted with the club till 2021 and he was hardly linked with an exit in the summer window at the start of the current season.

However, with Zinedine Zidane, the Real Madrid manager, determined to get in a first choice shot stopper at the end of the season, De Gea is yet again back on the radar of the Champions of Europe.

It is understood that the Spanish player is happy at the Old Trafford at the moment but Manchester United are currently struggling to get into the top 4 places and the report suggests that the26-year old might consider an exit if United fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Going back to his hometown to play for the most successful club in Europe will be an offer too hard to beat and though Manchester Untied are reportedly readying a new contract, De Gea, may just be taken away from United at the end of the season.

The Old Trafford outfit is one of the biggest clubs in Europe and it will not be easy for Real to convince them to sell their star player but with De Gea open for a move, it will be hard for Mourinho and co to keep him at the club any longer.

He has helped Manchester United for the last 4 years and will be close to impossible to replace but Manchester United might have to look at alternatives already.

Do you think David de Gea will stay in England for longer?
