Manchester United seem to be putting all their trust in Anthony Martial this summer. After signing the 19-year old striker for a world record transfer fee (for a teenager) of £36.3million, Old Trafford club now have given him the Number 9 jersey at the club and the responsibility of being club’s leading striker.
Martial, who wore the Number 23 for his former club AS Monaco is typically a strong and Pacey player who loves to get in behind the defenders to create chances for himself and his teammates. This is something, United have lacked all season and have entrusted their hopes on Martial to provide the cutting edge in their attack.

You can draw numerous conclusions from this image as for one, United will have a number 9 at their club this season after the number was left vacant since Radamel Falcao’s departure from the club. Prior to that season, number 9 was not even used by the Old Trafford club, which is a surprise indeed after there have been so many high-class forwards, who have graced this number with great pride.
In the initial announcements, Man United fans are not to excited to see a 19-year kid given the responsibility of being their leading center forward in a season where they are making their return to Champions League as well, which makes Martial’s job even tougher in not only scoring goals but also winning over the Manchester United fans this season.
