Premier League action returns for Liverpool tonight after few experiments in the cups, and it is quite expected that many of Jurgen Klopp’s remaining first-team members who were rested in the draw with Exeter City on Friday night will be available to challenge league leaders Arsenal at Anfield.
It’s definitely an important period of fixtures for Jurgen Klopp as he hopes to count on the home advantage against both Arsenal and then Manchester United four days after to stay in the battle for a Champions League qualification before they again move into key cup ties with a trip to Norwich City sandwiched in between those two Premier League clashes.
This is also the opening phase of a tricky period of league fixtures for Arsenal before they play against Stoke City in an away fixture and then welcome Chelsea. Wenger’s will be desperate for a win at Anfield tonight to lay down a marker and to move on with some momentum when their title credentials are likely to be tested in the coming weeks.
