Jurgen Klopp will be looking for an immediate league response from his Liverpool squad after their unexpected 2-0 defeat at St James’ Park last Sunday.

They will miss the service of Daniel Sturridge as the striker strained his hamstring at Newcastle.

However, the in-form Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho will be desperate to return to the starting eleven after his stunning performance from the bench in the Europa League against a West Brom side who will be keen to concede possession as they look to make it four consecutive league matches without defeat.

Tony Pulis’ troop are unbeaten in last three matches, seeing off Arsenal at home before drawing their last two games 1-1 against West Ham and Tottenham.

Defeat at the hands of Newcastle saw Klopp’s men miss the easy chance to move to within three points of the Champions League places but with a home victory today they could rise up as high as sixth. But a defeat could see them go down into the bottom half of the table and West Brom will jump to within a point of the Merseysiders.

Here is the starting lineups of Liverpool and West Brom.
