Manchester City welcome a team who are right now without a manager after the sacking of Garry Monk, and it could be an advantage to them, or Swansea might be doubly determined to win this tough fixture for recently sacked Monk after being winless in their last four Premier League outings. Either way after the demolishing midweek 4-2 victory against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Manchester City will be eager to draw level with the league toppers Leicester City, who are not playing any match until Monday evening’s visit of Chelsea. The Citizens are now sitting three points off the surprising leaders.

Victory against Borussia Monchengladbach last time out, inspired heavily by the stunning performance of Raheem Sterling, came at the right time for Manchester City just days after their worst performance of this season at Stoke City.

At the Britannia Stadium last weekend, Manchester City simply fell apart at the back and could have easily found themselves three or four down at the break.

City’s heart of the defence Vincent Kompany is still sidelined along with star striker Sergio Aguero and both of them will miss this home fixture.

Here is the starting lineup for both the team.
