Revealed: Mourinho hands shocking ban to most of the Man United players

Manchester United players have been slapped with Pokemon Go ban.

New manager Jose Mourinho has strictly told his multi-millionaire stars not to play the gaming sensation for two days before a match.

It’s revealed the Portuguese laid down the law to players ahead of their current pre-season tour to China, where they will face arch-rivals Manchester City tomorrow (if torrential rain doesn’t cancel the fixture).

Jose, 53, spoke to every single member of the first team squad to insist that he wants his team to be focused solely on tactics in the 48-hour build-up to a game.

Many of the United sides are addicted to the Nintendo game but have been stopped in their tracks by their new gaffer. Pokemon Go involves fans collecting hundreds of the classic characters from worldwide locations.

A club source said: “Jose loves having a great relationship with his players and staff, and thinks it’s great for them to chill and relax away from training and games.

“He’s still finding his way around Old Trafford and treading carefully.

“The only thing he has picked up on which he’s told the lads of is his concern about Pokémon.

“He says for 48 hours before a match he wants the guys to leave it alone and concentrate on the tactics he and his staff have been working on in the days before.”

The Portuguese – who has won trophies with Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Porto – has a £30million, three-year deal at United.

However, the self-proclaimed Special One is not at all worried after his boys lost 4-1 to Borrusia Dortmund in a pre-season friendly.

Gonzalo Castro scored twice for the German club, with Ousmane Dembele and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also scoring.

New signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan netted United’s goal, making the score 3-1 just before the hour mark.

“It was like Formula 1 against Formula 3,” said Mourinho. “They are much sharper, so it was difficult to judge.”

He even admitted, Dortmund had shown their pre-season preparations were at a more advanced stage.
