We are sad to report that Wolfsburg’s striker Junior Malanda has died in a high-speed car crash, aged just 20. Our condolences go out the family, friends and team mates of Malanda.
During the accident, the car reportedly skidded, flew over the guardrail and crashed into a tree. It landed on it’s roof. Malanda is reportedly to have catapulted forward after the car hit a tree. He died instantly at the scene.
Malanda was promising Belgian striker who had come the youth ranks of Brussels, Anderlecht and Lille. Wolfsberg signed the striker in 2013 and currently was on loaned to Zulte Waregem where he had scored 3 goals in 17 appearances.
German Police are reporting that Car in which Malanda was travelling, was at a high speed in heavy rains with wind speeds up to 100km/h.
According to Bild, Malanda was on his way to South African training camp to meet with his team mates. As per the reports from the scene of accident, another passenger and the driver were seriously injured are currently under observation at a hospital nearby.
