Everton FC manager Roberto Martinez is furious with the transfer rumours which are linked with his young defender John Stones. Premier League giants like Chelsea and Manchester United are after the defender and want to lure the talented defender’s services.

Roberto Martinez clearly pointed out that the transfer window time period should change. He suggested once the season begin the transfer window should close, or else it hampers the concentration of players and it is difficult to focus. The transfer window will close on 31st August 2015.

Sky Sports quoted Martinez: “The window, when it is open and we have to prepare for official games, is very, very unfair. I don’t think it is right.

“I think we should have a period where we assemble our squad, and then once the first league game starts everyone is focused.

“I think we forget that footballers have a human side and it can really affect. Players like Stones and [Ross] Barkley have an incredible future and will attract interest from the outside.”

Chelsea have already made two bids for the 21-year-old which was rejected by the toffees. League giants Manchester United too have joined the race and it is believed they have also placed bids for the English youngster.

Everton drew 2-2 in the first game of the season against newly promoted Watford City. They next face Southampton on Saturday, 14th August.
