Brendan Rodgers has dismissed concerns over controversial striker Mario Balotelli. According to reports, Mario Balotelli was involved in two incidents during Liverpool‘s game against Swansea City in the Capital One Cup.
Balotelli was sent away from pre-match warm up by coach Mike Marsh due to improper conduct, but assistant manager Colin Pasco suggested in the post-match press conference that Balotelli was sent away due to an injury scare. During the game Balotelli messed up with former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and they were involved again after the game while heading towards the dressing room.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers suggested that there are no concerns regarding Mario Balotelli and he does not need to protect the striker from provocation on pitch during games.
Brendan Rodgers: “Not Mario Balotelli again, I don’t know, but there is no problem, so we move on.
“I don’t have to protect Mario, he is fine. There is no concern.”
Mario Balotelli inspired the Reds to win 2-1 against Swansea City, after they were trailing 1-0. Balotelli came on in the second half and didn’t take too long to score. Dejan Lovren injury time winner sealed the win for Liverpool.
