Liverpool are one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp, the new manager at the club has managed to get his hands on most of his transfer targets and has added loads of quality to the squad ahead of the next season.
However, the Liverpool squad is still a bit weak at certain positions. The left-back spot is still not a problem that is solved while a defensive midfielder is also on the wish list for Klopp.
This has seen the manager scout for a number of midfielders recently with the likes of Joao Mario linked with a move to the club.
However, recent reports have suggested that the club turned their attention towards AS Roma’s Leandro Paredes for a move this summer.
It was reported earlier that Liverpool, who were competing with Manchester City and Leicester City for the 22-year old, made a £16m bid for the youngster who is valued at £18m.
It was also reported that Roma were looking at Fiorentina’s Borja Valero if they lose out on the 22-year old this summer.
Jurgen Klopp is, however, desperate to get a midfielder to join the squad this summer and has reportedly made a £18m bid to seal the transfer.
Italian journalist Emanuele Guilianelli claimed that the Reds were ready to meet the valuations of the Italian outfit for their man this summer but the interest from other clubs around Liverpool in the Premier League has seen Roma increase their valuation in such a short span.
The 22-year old Argentine was impressive in his previous loan spell at Empoli and has revealed that he is happy to play in the Serie A and will only move if Juventus come calling.
But having proven his worth last season, he may be snapped up any of the clubs who are scouting for him.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are now ready to meet his new valuation or will turn elsewhere for replacements.
