Ronaldo privately reveals his contempt for Rafa Benitez

After the big news that came from the Spanish capital about the sacking of Rafa Benitez and the subsequent appointment of Zizou; there comes another report about the disdain of a certain Cristiano Ronaldo for the Spanish boss.

According to recent reports in Spain, it has come forward that the relationship between the Madrid winger and the ex-Liverpool boss weren’t merry to say the least and the Portuguese is extremely happy with the departure of the 55-year-old Spaniard. As per El Confidencial, following the sacking that came after just 7 months on the forefront, Ronaldo is said to have said “We have lost a lot of time with this” further highlighting the sourness for Benitez in the eyes of the forward. And it is not only Ronaldo who seemed relieved to see the man depart!

Madrid stalwarts Ramos and Benzema too have been rumoured to be exasperated with the Spaniard and didn’t essentially share a good relationship with him. Isco and James also weren’t keen admirers of the Spaniard, whose admiration and affliction towards a certain Welshman is said to have earned him the wrath of the three-time Ballon d’or winner.

Under Benitez Madrid scored a whopping 25 goals in their last 4 games with the front trio scoring 10 goals between them. In the light of those monstrous performances, it makes one wonder as to what led to the boss being fired by the Los Blancos? Firstly like his previous clubs, Benitez’s actions hampered his relationship with important players, from Alonso to Ramos, from Terry to Ramos and in the light of these irreparable relationships a little push in the form of a draw against Gary Neville’s men was enough to send the man packing. Also, a big factor in the sacking saga was the El Clasico humiliation. After the 4-0 thumping at the hands of their arch rivals, the mood at the Madrid camp remained sombre and things were never the same. But if we are asking the question of why Benitez was sacked, there is another question that lingers as to why was he appointed in the first place?

Well, that is a discussion for some other time!
