Italian club Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has not completely ruled out the transfer of Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli this summer as he wants a cut-price deal to seriously consider the potential transfer.

The 24-year old has failed in his debut seaon at Anfield having managed to score only four goals in 28 appearences after his £16 million move from AC Milan.

Reports claim that Liverpool manager Brendan ROdgers is willing to listen to offers for Balotelli as he has admitting he was “not sure” whether the Italian international would still be at the club by the conclusion of the current transfer window.

The arrivals of Danny Ings, Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke meant the Italin international could on his way back to Italy after only one season at Anfield. Sampdoria is reportedly willing to sign him as they are linked to Balotelli since January.

“I hear he was in Genoa yesterday, but he costs €10m. With a discount, I would take him with open arms. People have got to get used to how things are in this country — you can get by with little, you only die when you have nothing,” Ferrero said.

A move to Sampdoria would mean Balotelli would get a chance to prove himself again back in Italy and the club will also offer europa League football next season.
