Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has branded the Blues manager Jose Mourinho an absolute fool after the Portuguese had doubted his age earlier in the season. The Cameroon striker is still believed to be loggerheads with Mourinho and hasn’t forgiven the Chelsea boss who questioned his age. In an interview with African Football the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker was quickly to point out, “Today, I am 33 years old. And it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it. And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters.”

The Stamford Bridge side have had a difficult season to endure failing to win any silverware and didn’t even come close to win the Premier League title finishing third in the standings. Mourinho’s men crashed out of the Champions League semi finals of the Champions League and have little to boast about their domestic Cup performances.

Eto’o scored 14 goals and grabbed 13 assists in 36 appearances this season for the Stamford Bridge side and has now seemed to laugh off the comment with a comical ‘old man’ celebration after scoring against Manchester United in January. Eto’o believes that he can play in the highest echelons of European football next season despite his contract with Chelsea ending in the summer. He will also lead Cameroon’s charge n the World Cup in Brazil which starts in just under a month’s time.

Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League. Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great
