With January just around the corner, Alexis Sanchez has added fuel to transfer rumours as reports suggest that the Chilean international has requested the Gunners to sign the ex-Manchester United star who has been shining in the Bundesliga.
Javier Herandez did not find space in the plans of Dutchman van Gaal and as a result, he was shipped off to Madrid. Despite wowing one and all the Madrid outfit did not make the deal permanent which worked in the favour of Bayer Leverkusen for whom the Mexican is in scintillating form. Chicharito has scored a whopping 11 goals in 14 games and Leverkusen’s good run in the league. And even in the Champions League, the Mexican was Leverkusen’s reckoning scoring 5 goals before their campaign was cut short. The terrific showmanship displayed by the 27-year-old has attracted everyone and one such admirer is Alexis Sanchez who has reportedly requested the Gunners to get the frontman in January.
Though Hernandez adds firepower to the Arsenal lineup, he won’t be able to play the Champions League in a Red shirt according to the UEFA rules. Despite this setback the Chilean is after his club signing the ex Manchester United star given his consistency and work rate. Though Hernandez would be a great signing for a team, Arsenal doesn’t necessarily need a frontman as certain Frenchman is in terrific nick for the Gunners and other key players like Wilshere and Welbeck are scheduled to be back in February which makes Arsenal look somewhat sorted and potential league winners this season. Also, Wenger has been pretty clear that the club won’t be spending much in this transfer window. And with the Elneny signing almost confirmed the presence of Chicharito in the EPL this season seems a little unlikely but who knows!
