With only a week left before their campaign in the I-League against Aizwal FC of Mizoram, Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen seems worried. The reason behind defending champion team’s coach is that he did not get any serious competitive matches for the preparation of his boys. In addition, Sen seems also anxious that all the recruited footballers of Mohun Bagan have not yet joined the team’s training.

Comparing with last season’s preparation before the country’s most prestigious league, Mohun Bagan coach defined saying, “Last year, we started our campaign in the I-league after having participated in the Federation Cup. That was perfect preparation for the footballers. This season, we have played only a couple of friendly matches which were not at all up to the mark in terms of preparation. And in those friendly matches, even our full side did not take part.”

Regarding the joining of footballers, Sen also is in dilemma when he quipped, “I still do not know when exactly I will have my full team. Sony Norde will not be here at the training before 9th January, the day we will be playing our opening match. At the same time, doubts over our Brazilian Luciano Sabrosa’s joining have raised due to his visa problem as he also may miss our opening match.”

According to Sen the only hope amidst the concern is that Cornell Glen has been regaining his touch which was seen in the last I-League where he was the second top scorer after Ranty Martins.
