Shocking: Chinese Premier League Side Reveals Rejected Bids For 6 Star Players Already This Month Including Costa!

The Premier League is one of the most competitive leagues in the world of football but it is also one of the richest in the world.

Over the years, clubs from the Premier League have spent insane amounts on top transfer targets to lure them to England and this summer transfer window saw a few records broken.

But just as it looked like the English clubs need some restriction on their spending powers, Asian domestic league the Chinese Super League, has grown onto become a bigger financial superpower than the Premier League recently.

In the last couple of transfer windows, the Chinese Super League clubs have been scouting for talent that can improve their squads in the competition and with the financial aspect of the transfer not at all an issues, it has come down to the clubs convincing the players to move to Asia.

A number of star players have already made a move to China, including the likes of Oscar and Tevez recently but reports today reveal that the CSL outfits have lost battles for a number of top class European stars recently.

Shu Yuhui the owner of the CSL outfit Tianjin Quanjian has revealed that his side has been rejected in their approach for a number of star players this transfer window.

The Tianjin-based football club are desperate for a striker but they have not been able to land any of their top transfer targets so far this season.

It is now understood that the CSL outfit have failed in bids to land the likes of Diego Costa, Karim Benzema, Edinson Cavani, Radaemel Falcao and Raul Jimenez this month.

Speaking to the media recently, Shu Yuhui said, “We need an out-and-out striker so we made a bid for Benzema. We also made an attempt for Falcao.”

“PSG told us Cavani would only be allowed to leave in June, the same can be said for Costa because Chelsea would only let him leave in June.”

It is now understood that the CSL outfit has had to settle for Nikola Kalinic from Fiorentina because of the new rules in the competition.

The new rule states that the clubs in the competition can field just 3 European players per game, which is bound to reduce the amount of incoming transfers to China.

The owner of the Tianjin outfit went on to say,

“As a matter of fact, the club had even prepared the contracts for Falcao and [Benfica striker] Raul Jimenez. We had already reached an agreement with them on wages and bonus. The pair were expected to sign the contracts, but the new rules forced us to give up on them.”

“We are currently discussing whether to hold onto [former Brazil international] Luis Fabiano. But Cannavaro told us he preferred Kalinic, who would perfectly fit into the team’s style of play.”

It will be interesting to see if the Chinese outfits are ready to make more transfers in the future but the new rule is sure to make them think twice before spending big.
