According to the latest report from Marca, Real Madrid could be ready to sanction a last minute Chelsea move for Colombian star James Rodriguez.
But only few days ago Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane gave an interesting reply to the ongoing speculation surrounding James Rodriguez’s future at the club, declaring he wants him to remain.
Not only Chelsea, even Manchester United and Arsenal also tried their luck to tempt the Colombian away from Madrid but some exciting bids were turned down by Real Madrid initially.
The Colombian attacker, who joined Los Blancos from Monaco soon after the 2014 World Cup, remains to be linked with a transfer away from Los Blancos having failed to secure a regular position in Zidane’s first team.
Stories in England and Spain have reported the French head coach wants to push the South American playmaker out, with Manchester United and Chelsea between the teams wants to obtain his signature.
However, Zidane, who took over from Rafa Benitez in January, has refused this is the case, assuming there is a spot for the 25-year-old in his squad.
“I do not want him to leave, he is a Madrid player, he just wants to play more, but you have to do what he is doing and work,” the 44-year-old claimed.
“I hope to play him more this year but I want everyone to give the maximum, and then I decide every game. And I have 25 players, so I do not have anything against James, people always ask me the same. James is well in Madrid.” – Zidane said.
