It has been a while since the news of Pep joining the sky blues has been official, but the Premier League and obviously Manchester City fans are still excited about it. The Spaniard has done a wonderfully well in both of the clubs he has managed. With Yaya Toure expected to leave the Etihad this summer, Guardiola is interested in the highly-rated German midfielder, reports DailyStar.
Liverpool and Arsenal are reported to be interested too in Gundogan but it looks like City will seal the deal. Guardiola thinks the 25-year-old German is the key to solution of City’s struggling form. In spite of having star midfielders somehow things are not gelling well for the Sky Blues.
City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain does the transfer dealings at the Etihad, since the news of Guardiola’s arrival it is not the same. The Spaniard has taken matters into his own hands and is all in all of the transfer committee.
Pep likes a fluidic midfield with quick passes and fast movements. But Yaya Toure doesn’t have the capabilities to cope with such fast gameplay, he is slow and will not be a part of Pep Guardiola’s plans and he himself knows that pretty well.
Pep Guardiola is also in search of players who can play out wide in midfield with good pace and skills and he sees all these qualities in Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is a top priority in his wishlist. As Demichelis’s exit is a sure thing City will need a Centre back and Everton’s John Stones is at the top in this category, but City will have to pay a good amount of sum to get the youngster to the Etihad. With a disappointing season for most of the Premier League big guns, it is going to be a transfer window with lots of transfers, City will have to grab good deals to make the squad suitable for Pep.
