Jose Mourinho and Chelsea were treated by a surprise visit of former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of their round of 16 clash against PSG later tonight.

Sir Alex is in Paris for a UEFA meeting which has perfectly fallen in as per Chelsea’s visit to Parc des Princes. Sir Alex’s presence was confirmed by Le Parisien who tweeted a picture of Sir Alex outside the five-star luxurious L’Hotel Du Collectionneur.

This is the same hotel where Chelsea team are staying and readying themselves for an amazing round of 16 clash against the French Champions later tonight.

Le Parisien further confirmed that Jose Mourinho had earlier spoken to his long time mentor and friend Sir Alex about possibility of meeting ahead of Chelsea’s all important match. Despite a bitter start, Mourinho and Sir Alex have shared a very cordial relationship over the years.

Jose Mourinho has always maintained the fact that he till date calls Sir Alex as “boss”. Both the manager hold great amount of respect for each other’s work and achievement in the game. Sir Alex will meet up with his long term friend Jose Mourinho ahead of Chelsea’s game against PSG.

In 2014, Ferguson was appointed Uefa’s coaching ambassador and chairs meetings for Europe’s ‘elite’ coaches. This is the reason why Sir Alex will attend the elite UEFA meeting on Wednesday.

Chelsea were rocked by the news of Cesc Fabregas missing the game due to severe cold and flu. Good news for Chelsea is that John Obi Mikel and Diego Costa will be back available for selection for Jose Mourinho’s side.

PSG are facing an injury crisis of their own, missing up to four 1st team starters and perhaps up to 7 key members of the squad. The match promises to be one of the finest in this year’s knock out rounds as the giants from French and English game look to battle it out for the ultimate glory.
