Sir Alex Ferguson Wanted John Terry At Manchester United This Summer

Manchester United managed to win the Europa League title and the League Cup last season but they failed to finish in the top-4 of the points table, which exposes their inconsistencies throughout the season.

Jose Mourinho has done a decent job with the squad at his disposal but he is yet to take the club back to its previous best as United have failed to establish themselves as European superpowers in the last few years.

Ever since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, Manchester United have failed to regain those glory days and it does not look like they will be back anytime soon.

The squad at Old Trafford is still a work in progress and will surely take more than a season to rule the European field.

Mourinho is making some decent signing for the side but one player he should have brought, according to Sir Alex Ferguson is John Terry.

The English international is one of the most experienced defenders in world football at the moment and though he has retired from the international arena, has enough in him to help even the best teams in the world.

He helped his side to two league titles in the last three years but was unable to establish himself in the first team under Antonio Conte last season.

He revealed earlier this year that he will not extend his contract with the Blues and subsequently quit the club after the end of the previous season.

And it did not take long for him to find a new club as Championship outfit Aston Villa announced earlier this week that they have signed the former English skipper for a free transfer for the next season.

Terry has revealed that he would love to be back at the Stamford Bridge as a manager someday but at the moment, he will concentrate on trying to the get the Villains back to the top flight next season.

Alex Ferguson would have signed him for Manchester United

He still has what it takes to be successful at the highest stage and the former Manchester United mentor Alex Ferguson has reportedly told his mates that he would love to have Terry playing at Old Trafford next season.

The Scottish manager wanted the 36-year old to join Manchester United in his time in charge at the club but at 36, Terry may no longer be the right man for United next season.

Do you think SAF is right in wanting Terry at United?
