Six Man United stars will be AXED to make a massive bid for a Centre-Back!

Manchester United could yet spend even more cash this summer after Paul Pogba’s record-breaking deal.

Pogba has finally completed his £110m transfer but Manchester Evening News claim Jose Mourinho is still digging deep into the market to add more reinforcements to his squad.

It is claimed that Mourinho wants his squad to consist of 20 outfield players this season and he will look to sell before adding another new face.

The reports say, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian, Phil Jones and Memphis Depay have joined the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Juan Mata as players facing the axe.

United reportedly want to add another defender to their ranks with concerns over their centre-back and a right-back options.

The Portuguese has already won over the United support, who seem delighted he is not Louis van Gaal. Now he needs to ensure his football is dramatically different to his predecessor’s dull style of play.

Mourinho is not always a byword for attacking but, after United scored a mere 49 league goals, he has to make them more potent. That involves making their passing more purposeful.

Mourinho also has to trim a squad that seems too large for his liking. He has raised expectations by saying he will not be satisfied merely with Uefa Champions League qualification: he seems intent on going for the title.

The imminent return of Paul Pogba to Old Trafford is huge. Huge in terms of the heavy price tag involved but also huge in terms of United moving on from Sir Alex Ferguson and finally playing with the big boys again in terms of transfers.

Many would believe the club have finally appointed the man who should have got the job when Sir Alex left in 2013. Perhaps José Mourinho had already agreed to terms on his return to Chelsea or perhaps the club truly believed David Moyes was the perfect candidate to replace the departing Scot, but lessons have since been learnt and, albeit three years too late, the club have finally appointed the right man to take the club back to where they feel they belong.
