Real Madrid are set to offer Isco a six-year contract extension after recent reports have linked the midfielder with a move to fierce rivals Barcelona, according to Marca.
With his current deal set to expire in June 2018, Real Madrid are keen to tie the 24-year-old to the club as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric move into the final stages of their careers.
The interest in the Spanish international has come from far and wide, including the likes of Manchester City who have twice tried to pry him away from the Bernabéu.
With his talent attracting such interest, Real Madrid have tabled an offer worth €6m-per-year, tripling his current salary, which would run until 2024. This would tie Isco to the club until the age of 32, where his best years would be guaranteed at Los Blancos.
Isco has started only 13 La Liga matches so far this campaign, with a return of six goals and five assists, yet Zinedine Zidane has been reluctant to use him on a regular basis.
This could prove vital in Isco’s decision making, as Real Madrid hope that patience will prevail and he will find himself to be a regular starter when the old guard move into their latter stages of their career.
If Isco does decide to call time on his career at Real Madrid there will be no shortage of options for the 24-year-old, but Real Madrid will not let an impressive talent leave without a fight as this contract offer shows they have no interest in allowing him to leave.
