It has been confirmed that Manchester United have completed Bastian Schweinsteiger’s transfer from Bayern Munich. Earlier today, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed Bayern have reached an agreement to sell the star Midfielder to Old Trafford.
Amid the transfer, United fans are excited about the new look of their revived midfield next season. Schweinsteiger is a proven winner and will bring a decade of experience with him.
The 30-year old midfielder is getting better with age and will indeed add value to Louis Van Gaal’s squad next season. Van Gaal understood the impact Michael Carrick had on his team. Carrick’s form was indeed the positive sign but his injuries prompted Van Gaal to look for a more stable midfield player.
EXPLAINED – Why Schweinsteiger is an upgrade to United’s current midfield
As the above stats show how the former Bayern Munich man likes to orchestrate things from midfield. Operating from central areas gives Schweinsteiger full access to entire length of the pitch and he will be able to pick out United’s attacking players with ease.
Schweinsteiger averaged 1.30 Key Passes per game last season, which is almost double of the number other United midfielders achieved. The German also likes to go in to the tackles as he averaged 1.20 successful tackles per game, add to that a 56.80 successful passes per game is an invaluable asset.
Considering the outstanding contribution made by the German over the last few season, it is just a matter of time before he settles in to life at Old Trafford and when he does, it will be a treat to watch him pulling the strings for Louis Van Gaal and Manchester United.
