Cadena Cope, a famous Spanish private radio network has aired a string of interesting events about Real Madrid’s failed attempts to sign Lionel Messi. The radio says Real Madrid tried to sign the five-time Ballon d’Or winner not once, but on three occasions but all leading to disappointment for Los Blancos.

The story has gone viral, as Real Madrid and Barcelona have been deemed as one of the fiercest rivalry in world football. Similarly, it is further interesting to imagine how Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could feature in the same team, provided they are regarded as the best players of current generation.

The radio says that the first bid from Madrid reached Messi in 2011, aftermath of the rumours linked with Cristiano Ronaldo joining Manchester City. Messi listened to the offer and refused on a very friendly note, the same way he repeated the gesture twice in the future.

The second attempt came in 2013, this time, a ‘senior executive of Real Madrid’, whose name has been unrevealed, approached Messi to be disappointed again.

Last year, the same official and Messi once again met with the result being same it was two times before.

However, Messi is not interested in leaving Barcelona, as it seems now, not at all to the arch-rival Real Madrid. Presently, Madrid have been tracking the new sensation of Barcelona, Neymar jr, but the results is expected to show the efforts of Real Madrid to be in wane.

Recently, Barcelona are planning to offer a new lucrative offer for the Argentine, as sources says, which will double his wage.
