Swansea City vs Liverpool: preview, predictions, expected line-ups and betting odds

After the first loss in Europe for Jurgen Klopp since taking over Liverpool, he will face a tricky test against a Swansea side who have not had the best results in recent time.

Francesco Guidolin has done a great job with the Liberty stadium outfit and has pulled them out of relegation battle and has made sure that the club plays in the top flight next season. And though the hosts do not have much to play for the in the last month of the Premier League, they will want to finish the season strongly and will hope for a result from this game.

Klopp, on the other hand, will have an eye on the Villarreal game where his team will have to overturn a deficit and may decide to play a second string side this weekend. However, there will be no doubt that the German manager will try to take all three points from this game.

Here is the preview of this game along with the team news, predictions, expected line-ups and betting odds.

Liverpool welcomed Christian Benteke back to the squad in the mid-week and will be hoping to get him into action this weekend. Origi, Henderson, Can, and Ings are all out injured while Sakho who has picked up a one month ban might not make any more appearances for Liverpool this season. With the 2nd leg of the semi-final looming over the mid-week, players like Ojo, Stewart, Ibe and Ward might get their chance on the night.

Key Battles:

Andre Ayew vs Martin Skrtel:

The Liverpool defender has not looked at his best coming back from injury last month and will have to be at his best against Ayew in the final third for Swansea. Ayew has the knack of scoring goals from different situations and Skrtel should make sure he does not get a chance to if Liverpool are to get anything from this game.

Sheyi Ojo vs Angel Rangel:

Liverpool’s youngster Sheyi Ojo has been in superb touch every time he was given a chance to play for the club in the league. He was sizzling in the game against Stoke City but will be up against an experienced Rangel this weekend at the Liberty Stadium. This will be an intriguing battle on the flank that can decide the outcome of the game.

Key Stats:
