The biggest transfer saga of the January window just got spicier. Liverpool have been stalled in their attempts to being Brazilian attacker Alex Teixeira to Anfield.

Recent reports suggested that Liverpool had an improved second bid also rejected by Shakthat who are holding on to their intial assessment of the price of the player.

However, that has not stopped Teixeira from making a number of moves that suggest that he wants to be at Anfield sooner rather than later.

After a series of rumors that were doing the rounds that the 26-year old has liked a number of pictures linked with Liverpool but a recent video from Anfield HQ just made things that much interesting in this transfer story.

Here is the video:

Teixeira confirmed that Liverpool are yet to make a second bid and that the Reds are ready to negotiate with the Ukrainian outfit. However he made it clear that he has to be patient and take the right decision.

The team received one official offer from the club,” Teixeira told Anfield HQ. “It was rejected. I don’t know why. It was a great offer.

“I am trying to leave but the manager and club president don’t want me to. So now I’m just waiting. Trying to be patient.”

“There’s only been one offer, I don’t know how many millions, and Shakhtar rejected it. The club refused and I’’ trying everything possible for them to accept so that I can go to Liverpool.”

To do away all the rumors and find a firm ground, the player was asked if he thinks he will play for Liverpool this January, and Teixeira seems to believe that it is a possibility.

“I don’t know. It’s tough to answer that. I have tried everything to be able to leave the club – in a good way obviously,” Teixeira said.

“But the coach and the president don’t want me to, so I don’t know what to say for the moment.”

With 22 goals from 15 games this season in the domestic league, Teixeira is now one of the hottest properties in world football.

Chelsea is another club who are monitoring the status of the 26-year old and Teixeira is now desperate for a move to the Premier League but feels Anfield is the perfect destination for reaching the heights he is capable of.

“Yes, it is a big club,” he said. “So many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt.”

He also felt he would add some fire power in attack for the Merseyside outfit that seem to be lacking goal scorers at the moment.

“The way I play is always looking to score, so I think I could help in that respect. Together with the talented players they already have in the squad.”

Teixeira’s move to Liverpool is also built on the number of Brazilian team mates that Liverpool have in their squad.

“I played with [Philippe] Coutinho when we were little, at the age of 10 or 11 years old. It would be an honour to play alongside him again.” Teixeira said when asked about his Brazilian team mates at Liverpool,” he said.

He added: “For me, [the Premier League] is the best league in the world and I want to experience that challenge in my career.”

With these kind of statements, it will be hard for the Ukrainian outfit to keep hold of the player but of Liverpool do not break the bank for the in form player, their problems this season are sure to exaggerate.

Do you thing Alex Teixeira will come to Liverpool before the end of Janaury
