Chelsea club captain and legend John Terry is not having the best time of his life as his future at Stamford Bridge is under question. The furore in the media relating to John Terry began when the former English international was benched by Jose Mourinho at half-time against Manchester City on Sunday. Chelsea eventually lost the game by 3 goal margin. John Terry was held responsible for the first goal as he was out of position.

Jose Mourinho clarified that it was a tactical decision and that Kurt Zouma’s inclusion added pace to the team’s backline. Daily Mail now claims that John Terry was apparently not a part of Mourinho’s plan initially against City. The manager had paired Zouma with Gary Cahill until a last-minute change of mind on Friday when he reinstated Terry.

John Terry has been inconsistent since the beginning of the season. He played poorly against rivals Arsenal in the Community Shield, and then again in the first two matches of the Premier League he displayed dismal show.

Dail Mail quoted a Terry’s friend: “JT likes a fight and loves playing for Chelsea. Don’t expect him to walk away from this one.

“He’ll continue to play his heart out and is convinced he can prove his value to the manager. Nobody will work harder than him in training this week.”

Chelsea have been in pursuit of Everton defender John Stones since a long time now. They had placed two bids which were rebuffed by the Toffees. Everton had previously asked for £30m but as Chelsea are ready to match that the club have increased the asking price to £35m.

If Stones finally lands up at Stamford Bridge, it will be the end of John Terry era at Chelsea. With Kurt Zouma already in the side, Terry would surely lose his place in the starting lineup.
