The Barclays Premier League is known for its high intensity for the duration of the game. It comes as no surprise that the highest yellow and red cards last season were shown in the Premier League. The quality of football is also high in the country and it makes life tough for the defenders.

Eden Hazard with all his trickery was the most fouled player in the 2014-15 season. Here is a list of players that have been fouled the most number of times in the Premier League this season.

1. Andre Ayew (Swansea) – 29

The new summer signing for the Welsh outfit Swansea City has started his Premier League season with a bang. He has been lively and full of energy since his first minute in the league and has been a great addition to the Swansea ranks. He has been fouled 29 times in the 8 games this season and tops the list of players who are fouled the most.

2. Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) – 22

The Chilean has been one of the best players for the Gunners this season and the last. Off late, he has been in tremendous form and has turned into a defenders nightmare. He is one of the hardest players to content with when in full flow and often leaves his defenders with minimal fuss like in the game against United. He has been fouled 22 times so far in the Premier League this season.

3. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 22

Chelsea’s embarrassing start to the new season has been partly due to the fall in form of key players like Eden Hazard. The Belgian International has not been at his best and has failed to impress in most of the games. However, he still has the spark to get past a defender and is 2nd on the list of players who are fouled the most. He has been fouled a total of 22 times so far this season.

4. Saido Mane (Southampton)- 22

The Saints have had a decent start to their campaign and one of the main reasons for their success has been the brilliance of Saido Mane. He showed glimpses of his form in the ending of the last season and has picked it up right from the first game. He was fouled 22 times in the 8 games this season and is second on the list.

5. Ross Barkley (Everton) – 21

Everton will not be too unhappy with their start to the new season of the Barclays Premier League. Their forwards have been in good form and have troubled the opposition more often than not. Ross Barkley has been a key player for the Toffees as he often creates the spark needed to break down stern defenses. He knows how to go past his man and has been fouled 21 times so far in the 8 games in the 2015-16 season.

Though the season is still relatively young, it is clear from the list that the abundance of talent in the Barclays Premier League makes it one of the best leagues in the world. Make sure you follow all the live action as it happens every weekend on our website.
