Do you know the player who has statistically given the best all-round display in a single Premier League game of the season?

Well, the answer might seem as a shocker, but it is Liverpool’s Brazilian defensive midfielder, Lucas Leiva.

Things at Liverpool are messy at the moment as the manager Brendan Rodgers is under a lot of pressure as the fans want him to get sacked. Liverpool’s 3-2 victory against Aston Villa last weekend gave some moments of relief to the Northen Irishman and the pioneer of that win was not Milner or Sturridge but the Brazilian regista, who was almost sold this summer by Rodgers.

Lucas Leiva gave the best overall individual performance in Premier League so far this season, at least that is what the statistics say.

Rodgers must be thanking his fortunes that he did not sell Lucas this summer as that is what can be a turning point in saving his job at the moment.

Here is why statistically he was the best player in League-

1> Lucas completed the most number of passes in Premier League this weekend

Most passes completed in a single game this weekend-

Lucas Leiva vs Aston Villa- 100 passes

Santi Cazorla vs Leicester- 72 passes

Mamadou Sakho vs Aston Villa- 67 passes

2> Lucas is only the third player in the list of most pass completion in a single game so far this season

His excellent passing also has taken him third in the list of most passes completed in a single game this season so far.

Here is the top three of the list-

Santi Cazorla vs Newcastle- 118 passes

Ashley Williams vs Newcastle- 102 passes

Lucas Leiva vs Aston Villa- 100 passes

3> Lucas also registered the second most number of touches in a single game this season

Lucas Leiva made is to the second spot of the most number of touches in a single League game of the season.

Here are the top three players with the most number of touches in a single league game this season-

1> Santi Cazorla vs Newcastle- 148

2> Lucas Leiva vs Aston Villa- 125

3> Fernandinho vs West Ham- 123

4> Lucas also successfully made most tackles in a single game this season-

Apart from his passing and touches, he also made the most numbers of tackles in a single League game this season.

Lucas Leiva vs Aston Villa- 11 tackles won

Eric Pieters vs Leicester- 11 tackles won

Kante vs Bournemouth- 10 tackles won

Are you surprised with the shocking statistics? Whatever the thing is, Rodgers should be considering him lucky to still retain the player as he almost sold him to Besiktas but kept him on the eleventh hour after captain Jordan Henderson suffered an injury.
