The German midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, is being targeted by English giants Liverpool. The Reds are getting closer to sign the Dortmund player as the January transfer window is approaching. The 25 year old player has played under Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund and is sweet favorite of the Liverpool boss. The price quoted for Gundogan is approximately £17.6 million and the English club is ready to pay the amount. The offer will surely prompt BVB to sell their beloved midfielder.
Gundogan plays in the central midfield and is a very effective player in the team. In this season of Bundesliga, until now, Gundogan has achieved a pass success rate of 86.5% which is commendable. His style of play majorly includes dribbling and shooting from a long distance. His passing is upto the mark and so are his dribbling skills. He is a very focused game maker and hence his concentration is a key factor. Gundogan is well known for his successful finishing and brilliant key passes.
Gundogan’s current deal expires in 2017 after he signed a year’s extension with the club. If Gundogan joins the Merseyside team, he will become the first signing at Liverpool under Klopp’s era. It is believed that Liverpool have a good chance of sealing the deal with Gundogan since the player and current gaffer Klopp, shared a good relation at BVB.
Gundogan’s addition to the Liverpool squad will add strength in their midfield and indeed be a boost for the team’s confidence. Liverpool is fairing very well under the new gaffer and Gundogan joining the lads will be a cherry on the cake!
The German midfielder was previously linked with Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United earlier this summer. The Red Devils were keen on signing the player but Borussia Dortmund refused to sell him.
