Premier League is set to start this weekend and we take a look at the top 5 BPL signings by the teams so far. Some big names have left the Premier league too, Luis Suarez completed a move to Barcelona for £75m and David Luiz joined Paris Saint Germain for a reported £50m. Premier League clubs have done most of their business early. Liverpool have already signed a record eight new players including few exciting young talents from Germany, Portugal and Spain. Chelsea and Manchester City look stronger than last season.
Sanchez joined Arsenal for £35m from Barcelona after a brilliant World Cup campaign. The Chilean forward had to turn down offers from Arsenal’s rival club Liverpool and Juventus in order to join the London club. Arsenal over the year have lacked a versatile forward in their sides with the likes of Giroud and Podolski not performing in big games. The signing of Sanchez is just what Arsenal needed. Wenger signed Ozil last season from Real Madrid and the addition of Sanchez will make them strong title contenders for the Premier Leaguge title. Sanchez managed to score 19 goals in 34 appearances for Barcelona in the 2013-14 campaign.
Liverpool sold Luis Suarez to Barcelona for £75m and lets be honest they can’t find a direct replacement for someone like the Uruguayan star. However, one signing that can light up the Premier league next season has to be Lazar Markovic. Liverpool signed the Serbian international for £20m from Benfica, after he turned down Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea. Markovic has been spotted as a technically gifted player with a brilliant first touch. He along with the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Raheem Sterling and Coutinho can be a treat to watch for Liverpool fans. The pace in the Liverpool attack can be breath taking in the coming season and maye cause the opponents a lot of problems.
Filipe Luis was left out of the Brazil squad for the World Cup, but he had offers from all over Europe. The Brazilian international joined Chelsea for £15.8 m from Atletico Madrid, after an excellent last season helping Atletico Madrid to win the La Liga and reaching the Champions League final. Its not difficult to see why Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho opted for the Brazilian left-back and will bolster an already strong Chelsea defense.
Liverpool conceded 50 goals last season more than any other side in the top 5 of the Premier League and Rodgers was surely looking to strengthen his defence this summer. Moreno, 22, was on Liverpool’s radar after an impressive season with Sevilla. The Spainish international was part of Sevilla’s Europa League winning side. Rodgers wanted Moreno to replace Aly Cissokho, after deciding not to sign him permanently.Liverpool completed a £12 m deal for Alberto Moreno this week and can prove to be a bargain for this price.
Reges is arguably, the best bargain of the transfer window till now in England. Fernando joined Manchester City for only £12m from Portuguese club Porto FC. The Brazilian midfielder will provide strength to the City midfield adding to the already solid central partnership of Yaya Toure and Fernandinho. City boss Pellegrini might be in a fix whether to play Fernandinho, Fernando and Yaya Toure as three central midfielders as it provide more stability to the team in big games.
