Top 5 players who drew the most fouls in the Premier League so far this season

The Premier League this season has some more excitement in store with the amount of quality that was added to the teams in the league in the summer transfer window.
There are a number of new players in the league that have already made themselves heard in a new country while some of the experienced players try to keep up their dominance.
There is no doubt that the Premier League this season will provide more battles that will be good to watch than it ever did with almost every team filled with star players.
We are 5 weeks into the league and the players have started to settled down. So it is a nice time to look at a few stats that reveal a lot about the clubs and the league as a whole. Here is one such stat that shows that top 5 players who got fouled most often in the first 5 match-days of the new season:
- Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur) – 13
The England international has continued his form from the previous season and has already had an influential role in the squad this season. He drew a total of 13 fouls so far this season and is an important player for Pochettino’s side.
He is looking confident and is adding goals to his game and if he can continue his good performance, he can keep the positive run from the Spurs going for a long time.
- Robert Snodgrass (Hull City) – 14
One of the best dribblers in the league, Snodgrass has played a huge role in the 7 points that the Hull City side have taken in the first 5 games of the new season. He has played in a central midfielder/ attacking midfielder position and has been effective in most games for his side this season.
He has always been a decent player and was fouled 14 times already this season. He will be a huge weapon for his manager this season if Hull are to avoid relegation.

Arguably the biggest surprise on the list, Cherries’ long serving defender Adam Smith was fouled an awful number of times this season. It is no secret that he is decent with the ball at his feet but drawing 14 fouls from a defensive position speaks volumes about his quality.
He has been superb for his side in the previous season and will hope to keep up his performances to save his side from relegation for another season.
- Diego Costa (Chelsea) – 17
Chelsea’s biggest savior so far this season, Diego Costa, has been bang in form early this season. He has scored plenty of goals that have kept Conte’s side close to the top of the table and has been one of the most influential player in the league.
He was fouled a total of 17 times already this season and has shown that he is a player not many defenders would want to play against.
- Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 18
Chelsea’s Belgian winger had a torrid time last season but was superb in the EUROs with the national side and has bought the confidence with him to the club this season. He has started splendidly and has been one of the best players in the league so far.
He is the most fouled player in the league, drawing a total of 18 fouls in the first 5 games and will only get better as the season progresses. He will hope that he can help his side and their manager to glory this season.
