Petr Cech is looking more and more certain to join Arsenal in a deal expected to be in the region of £8-11million. Telegraph are confident that Petr Cech will become an Arsenal player at the end of this week.
Such a move is bound to trigger lots of reactions and bring several changes at both Chelsea and Arsenal. It is not a surprise how Jose Mourinho is desperate to keep Petr Cech at the club, knowing very well that the 33-year old keeper is capable of turning the Arsenal in to Premier League winning side.
Expecting the transfer to happen in next few days, I bring to you the Top 5 things we can expect from Petr Cech transfer to Arsenal
Arsene Wenger to finally get one over Jose Mourinho
We all know the miserable stat, Arsene Wenger has against Jose Mourinho. Wenger has no wins in 13 meetings against the Chelsea boss but swooping Petr Cech would feel like a major victory for Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal to become serious title challengers
Arsenal have had a history of giving up on matches due to an inconsistent performance by their Goal keepers. After a long time, David Ospina had a consistent season in an Arsenal goal keeper jersey.
With Cech’s arrival, Arsenal can be assured for 3-4 extra wins every season, making them a serious title challengers.
David Ospina’s Arsenal days will be over
If and when Petr Cech does join Arsenal, David Ospina’s days as Arsenal number 1 keeper will be over and he is not someone who will take it easily.
There have already been reports about Ospina being a target for Fernabache. According to Independent, Arsenal have agreed a £3.9million move for the keeper.
Chelsea to sign Robert Green as Cech’s replacement
Chelsea will be surely hurt by Cech’s exit, however they have identified Robert Green as the ideal back up to their prodigy Thibaut Courtious.
According to Dailystar, Chelsea will have to spend £2million to sign Robert Green from QPR.
Arsenal to finish above Chelsea next season
It is not just Petr Cech joining Chelsea, I see it as changing of the guards in Premier League football. Chelsea won the league fair and square last season but I am unable see them retain their title next season.
Their squad has a great sense of rigidity and new signings are a possibility but when and who is the question. With Cech’s arrival, Arsenal will be a bit stronger in a crucial area next season & regardless of the eventual league finish, I have a reason to belive that Arsenal will finish above Chelsea in Premier League next season.
