It’s about bragging rights, it’s about the banter, it’s about the passion before, during and after the game.

So here’s a look back at some of those clubs that football fans all over the world follow religiously and with all their heart. Here’s a list of teams which have the highest fan following in the world.

AC Milan –

The Italian giants are the second most successful team in Europe, and with their success comes their massive fan base. The Rossoneri are famous for their red and black striped kit, and have dominated Italian football for decades at their fortress San Siro. The Milan based team might be going through a dark phase at present but they still have one of the most loyal sets of fans.

Juventus –

The Old Lady is one of Italy’s most successful football clubs. Juventus was also the first professional club in the Italian nation. At present they are dominating the Italian Seria A winning back to back league titles the last two seasons.

Arsenal –

The London based club has one of the best fan-following not just in England but also from all over the world. The only English club to have an invincible season in the Premiership with 13 League titles and 10 FA Cup titles, Arsenal are one of the most successful clubs in the country.

Chelsea –

Another London based club which has setup a huge fan base in recent years is Chelsea. Over the last decade Chelsea F.C has been one of the most successful clubs in England with the funding of Roman Abrahimovic turning the Blues into a financial powerhouse.

Bayern Munich –

The German champions are the most successful club in Germany. Bayern Munich has a record of 23 League titles and 16 domestic cups in their trophy cabinet accompanied by their Europeans accolades which compliment their stature of being of the biggest football clubs in the world.

Liverpool –

The second most successful domestic team in England with 18 league titles along with their unprecedented 5 European titles, Liverpool makes all the ingredients to be a club to follow. Liverpool has, arguably, the best set of fans in the country and the atmosphere at Anfield is electrifying more often than not.  

Manchester City –

The Arab owned club from Manchester, have jumped onto the scene in the last half decade in terms of popularity. Though they had their own set of fans previously, with the advent of the money that is pumped in and the star attractions with big name signings coming to the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City have built a healthy fan following.   

Manchester United –

The most successful club in England with 20 titles and 3 European Titles to go with it makes Manchester United one of the most sought after teams in the world. Having always being related to the most eye-catching footballers like Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo which induces even further attention towards the club.

Barcelona –

The Catalan club is second most successful club in Spain and also has the second highest valuation as a football club. With the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Iniesta and their tiki-taka style of play has attracted a lot of appreciation and followers from all over the world.

Real Madrid –

Arguably, the most glamorous club in the world, you always relate the best players in the world with Real Madrid. Thanks to the ‘Galacticos’ and the ‘Big name’ signings, Real Madrid has a fan following unparalleled by none. Be it any country or any continent, the Los Blancos have a staggering strength of fan following throughout the world.
