Not many players arrived for the defending Premier League Champions and it had been the window in which English side spent the lowest sum of money. Fernando Reges and Eliaquim Mangala was about to join in the past winter transfer window but we all know the reason why they could make it. But they did join the club this year. We have seen Fernando Reges doing quite an impressive work, but we have not Fernando performing yet. This French centre back has been a talking point for a lot of clubs last season who joined Manchester City for a fee of £32 million.

City let Gareth Barry join Everton for free. We cannot say if it was a very wise move, Barry might be a little old but he is still a great midfielder. The two big money transfers they allowed were Jack Rodwell and Javi Gercia. For Sunderland, they got a great player for only £10 million, I do not if Manchester City did the right thing by letting almost all of their defensive midfielders go.

They loaned in Frank Lampard New York City. It was quite shocking move from Chelsea as well when they let him go, and it was even more shocking when City signed him on loan successfully. But without any doubt, it had been a wise move from City manager Manual Pellegrini.

They loaned out a total of ten players, among them Negredo is an interesting name. But it will not affect much since Jovetic is becoming one of the regular players.

Overall, Manchester City did a good business, they fixed all the positions they were struggling in, but are they really a bigger contender than Chelsea this year? Time will answer.
