With just over a week left for the January transfer window, rumours about possible transfers have been circulating all over the web. Let us look at those which are making the headlines:
Torres returning home?
AC Milan’s pursuit of Alessio Cerci in the summer is a known one for the world. Various reasons prevented the move from taking place. As a result the player joined Atletico Madrid.
Latest rumours have indicated that Milan’s interest in the player has re-emerged. This time they are planning to get their man using Torres as the bait, according to Guardian.
Fernando Torres has struggled to establish himself with Milan, where he has scored just the one league goal since joining from Chelsea on loan in the summer.
Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi is said to have had enough of the player and thereby decided to cut his loan short, so that Atletico can get the Spaniard back on loan or permanently from Chelsea as part of the exchanges for Cerci.
It looks to be a complicated one but, if Milan are said to be really interested, then Cerci would be equally interested in joining them due to the limited game time he is having at Madrid currently.
No Kramer for Gunners
Arsenal hopes of signing another World Cup winning player was dashed, when Christoph Kramer signed a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen until 2019.
The 23-year-old holding midfielder is currently on loan with Borussia Monchengladbach, but will return to parent club Leverkusen at the end of the season.
Despite the setback, Daily Mirror states Gunners fans need not have to worry, as latest rumours have linked them with the energetic Frenchman Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle.
Petr Cech to Gunners or Merseyside?
Due to the limited first team action Cech is facing right now, rumours have been constantly circulating about his possible destination. His agent has added more fuel to the speculation with his latest comments.
Cech agent Viktor Kolar said: ““It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title.”
“I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him. I think Petr would be considering it. Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer,” he added.
Looks like his agent is using all the tricks in the textbook in order to find a new club for his man….
DeAndre to Spurs is close
DeAndre Yedlin was another player who was so close to joining Tottenham Hotspur in the summer but, for some reason the move failed to materialise in the end.
ESPN has reported that despite the failure, Tottenham are said to have reached an agreement to land the right back from Seattle Sounders in January.
With his work permit to UK on the verge of being finalised, the real question now should be ‘When’ rather than ‘If’ the move will take place?
