Michael Carrick was undoubtedly one of the best signings for Manchester United, but the 34-year-old is coming towards the twilight zone of his career at Old Trafford. Club’s new recruit Schweinsteiger also stepping towards the end of his career.
Carrick is still one of the most effective midfielders in English Premier League, but it’s a well-known fact that one day he has to step aside, will no longer be in United’s midfield orchestrating the game. So van Gaal already started to look for his replacement.
Manchester United have been keeping tabs on the 18-year-old Belgian starlet Youri Tielemans of Anderlecht describing him an excellent prospect and planning to rope in this youngster in the January Transfer Window. But, Arsenal, Barcelona and Chelsea also has been keeping an eye on this young lad.
Tielemans, a product of Anderlecht’s youth academy has already scored three goals in eight league games this season. Last year he made 52 appearances for the Belgian club and already on the blink of 100th appearances for his national team.
He made his Champions League debut at just under 16 and quickly developed himself as a hard working effective midfielder.
