Chelsea youngster Mario Pasalic could leave Stamford Bridge on loan for a third successive season this summer as the Daily Mail reported that the midfielder is wanted by Italian giants AC Milan.
After joining the Blues in 2014 from Hajduk Split for £3million, the 21-year old has been loaned out to Elche and Monaco in the previous two seasons and it seems that he is all set to spend another season away from Chelsea as he does not feature in new boss Antonio Conte’s plans.
The Croatia international made 28 appearances for Monaco last season and scored seven goals.
Meanwhile, the daily reported that Pasalic’s loan deal would remain separate from the on-going negotiation of Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli.
Ever since taking charge of Chelsea, Conte has been desperate to bolster his backline and he was linked with several top names but nothing has materialised yet. Chelsea made enquiries for Romagnoli on Monday but despite being told he was not for sale, the Blues are willing to offer £30m plus another £4m in add-ons for the young defender.
Chelsea’s pursuit of defender Kalidou Koulibaly took a huge blow after Napoli offered a new contract while Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic still remains an option though his club now want at least £30m after rejecting a £24m offer on Tuesday from Napoli.
