Well, everyone knows that English Tabloids aren’t really great sources when it comes to breaking transfer rumours. The reasons are obvious. They lack substance and carry feather’s weight, just like this one. According to the Daily Star, Chelsea have agreed to put Petr Cech on sale months after he was the first choice at Stamford Bridge. The Czech international however has been relegated to bench over the season as Thibaut Courtois has taken over the number one spot under Jose Mourinho.
It is now believed that Cech could now leave in the January transfer window. However the Daily Star’s projections with a misleading title that is laughable which claims that the Blues have agreed to sell the 32 year old to their arch rivals Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger could go for a goalkeeper in the winter transfer market and the report claims that the Gunners are willing to offer Chelsea £7m to acquire Cech’s services. This really comes as a surprise given they signed David Ospina in the summer to provide competition to Wojciech Szczesny. Thus would the Emirates outfit spend again for a goalkeeper. There is no doubt that Cech is a world class goalkeeper who can fit in any side but the story simply makes no sense.
The report also mentions, “It’s believed Wenger has already held talks with the Blues, and according to some reports, has agreed a deal to sign the veteran goalkeeper in January.” Well, let’s wait till January on the right piece of news.
