Things did not go well for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud in a friendly match against Serbia in the France shirt.

Arsenal fans are furious against the club as it did not sign a center forward to compete with Giroud for a place in the starting XI and the performance of Giroud have raised eyebrows of the Gunners.

Yesterday, French supporters began booing him in the first half of an international friendly against Serbia in at the Stade Atlantique in Bordeaux on Monday.

France won the game 2-1 thanks to a brace from Blaise Matuidi. The striker gave a poor performance and missed several chances and also gave the ball away which led to Aleksandar Mitrovic scoring for Serbia.

Things got worse for the Arsenal man when the manager Didier Deschamps replaced the 28-year-old with Karim Benzema who had been linked with a move to the Emirates for much of the summer.

There is huge pressure on Giroud to start performing given that Gunners boss Arsene Wenger did not bring attacking reinforcements to north London in the transfer window.

And with Danny Welbeck set to be out until Christmas with a knee injury, Giroud being booed by his own international supporters is just about the last thing Gunners need right now.

Twitter also reacted to the dismal performance.
