Mourinho is planning a sensational offer for Everton defender John Stones which could eventually spoil Manchester city’s almost done deal. If this trick of united succeeds, not only City, Chelsea fans will also be shocked as they failed to sign the promising defender last season.
According to latest reports from ESPN, Premier League giants, Manchester United are closely monitoring John Stones’ situation.
It is believed that that Everton would be ready to sell the 22-year-old for £50m and with Jose Mourinho’s desire to strengthening defensive options, the deal might be sealed before the transfer window ends.
Manchester City had been hoping to prise the England defender away from Goodison Park for less than the asking price.
But Ronald Koeman’s side have told City to take or leave their offer. Everton won’t budge on their £50m valuation of John Stones.
Although a £112million world-record deal for France international midfielder Paul Pogba has yet to be completed, the club are relaxed in the knowledge that all major terms have been agreed and that there are only a few details to be finalised.
Meanwhile, Man United have also been keeping the close eye on John Stone’s Alternatives, Saints centre-back Jose Fonte and Italian superstar Leonardo Bonucci have also been on the radar of Portuguese manager ahead of 2016/17 season.

United attempted to sign a senior defender last year in Sergio Ramos, however, the Spaniard used United’s interest as a bargaining chip to earn an improved Real Madrid contract.
