Angel Di Maria has finally spoken out against his critics regarding his mixed performance in his debut season at Manchester United. He said, “Because not everything goes as I want, because I don’t play…because I came with an intention and end up on the bench. It’s hard to tell how I feel there.”
Di Maria also remarked that, while his 1st season at United was not his best, but his will to succeed is still the same and he is going to come back stronger, citing his struggle when he had just joined Real Madrid from Benfica in 2010. He said, “No, because I’m not thinking like that. In Madrid there were times when I was whistled around the stadium but faced it and then it turned around. I like to deal with things.”
Despite Falcao leaving Manchester United to join Chelsea, and with the impending departure of Robin Van Persie, DI Maria is going to face increased competition for a 1st-team place with new arrival Memphis Depay. Hopefully, the Argentine winger will get back to his best and help United make a strong start to their upcoming season.
