Chelsea star Eden Hazard was seen limping out of the ground after Belgium’s 1-1 stalemate against the Netherlands.
The in-form winger, who was wearing the captain’s armband for his country, was looking sharp throughout the match in the friendly encounter. He also played alongside his brother Thorgan Hazard for the first time in his career. But his fine night turned somewhat sour when a challenge from a Dutch defender floored him. The Belgium international was seen grimacing and hobbling off the pitch.
Here is the video:
Injury to Hazard would be the last thing that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte would have wanted. The 2014-15 Premier League Player of the Year has started the season in an emphatic manner and has been one of the biggest reasons for the Blues’ impressive performance in recent times. The winger, who had a disastrous last term, has already found the back of the net on seven occasions.
Belgium will play against Estonia on Sunday (November 13 ), but it seems they will miss Hazard’s services after the blow in Amsterdam Arena.
Antonio Conte’s man are second in the league, one point shy of table-toppers Liverpool, and will look to keep pace with the Reds when they play Middlesbrough on November 20. Conte would be desperately hoping that Hazard’s injury is not serious and he gets fit in time for the league match.
